Look for us in The Dalles, Oregon

Sedition Brewing Company, a new craft brewery and taproom at the corner of Laughlin and 1st Street in downtown The Dalles, is scheduled to open for business in April 2016. A brewery has been a long time coming for The Dalles. The last, Columbia Brewery, closed their doors in 1916.  Honoring history, our microbrewery will offer a variety of craft beers brewed in-house at the historic Stadelman Ice House at 208 Laughlin Street.

“This building is a perfect place to brew craft beers,” said Sedition Brewing Co. Owner Kelley Lee. “The century-old structure was once used for ice production and fruit storage.  My great-grandfather vended large blocks of ice to various locations throughout the city, making deliveries in his 1940s vintage Dodge truck.  We intend to rekindle the building’s proud tradition and take craft beer brewing into new and exciting directions.”

Sedition Brewing Co. will serve quality ales and lagers, which will vary seasonally. The craft beers will be available by the drink on draught and for carryout in growlers. Sedition Brewing Co. also intends to distribute its beer to local retailers, including bars, restaurants, grocers and other businesses that carry beer products.  While the primary focus is producing quality beers, the taproom will serve a limited food menu including such items as panini sandwiches, salads and seasonal offerings.

“Brewing craft beers is a passion for us,” said Kyle Rossman, Brewmaster, who will manage the microbrewery’s on-site day-to-day operations. “Before coming to Sedition Brewing Co. I worked for Epic Brewing Company.  I learned many of the nuances of fermentation and beverage production while working at Epic’s Utah and Colorado locations.”

“Sedition Brewing Co. will be the kind of relaxed old school place where you can kick back, drink good beer, watch sports, or just visit and listen to good music,” said Sedition Brewing Co. Owner Aaron Lee. “The beer and the atmosphere will be hand crafted by beer lovers for beer lovers.”
